Zambia: Police Impound Copper Truck

Police in Luanshya have impounded a Mitsubishi Fuso truck loaded with four tonnes of copper ore suspected to have been stolen from Luanshya Copper Mines.

Copperbelt police chief, Martin Malama confirmed the incident in Ndola yesterday and said the truck, registration number ACL 8416, was found at house number 3252 in Mikomfwa Township around 06:00 hours.

The police have arrested the owner of the truck, Fanwell Kambobe to help with investigations.

The value of the contraband is yet to be established and investigations have continued.
