Luanda — The Ministry of Geology, Mining and Industry has defended a large or small scale mining exploration activity throughout the country.
The initiative was expressed Tuesday in Luanda by the State secretary for Geology and Mining, Mankenda Ambroise, while speaking to Angop, on the achievements of the 35 years of national independence, celebrated on 11 November.
According to the official, this is part of the sector's goals aimed at increasing its participation in growth activity of the country's Gross Domestic Product (GDP). On the other hand, he said, it will enable the country to resume the world mining production.
Quoting the exploration of iron and magnesium in the mine-rich locality of Cassinga, in southern Huíla province, Mankenda Ambroise said the activity in that locality will start within three years.
